FIELD: agriculture, in particular, harvesting of pea at its maturity stage. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has inclined chamber, platform 1 connected with inclined chamber and rested on soil by vertical disk cutters 8 provided with flanges 12 and extending in the direction of advancement of apparatus. Pickup formed as belt conveyor is mounted in front part of platform. Disk cutters 8, extending forwardly of pickup and positioned adjacent to pickup sides, cut pea stems from main pea bulk positioned aside harvester. Method involves providing cutting pea stems from main pea bulk; tearing pea stems from soil by belt conveyor and directing for threshing. EFFECT: increased efficiency, simplified construction and method and increased yield. 5 cl, 2 dwg
