MULTI-PURPOSE SINGLE-DECK VESSEL Russian patent published in 1996 - IPC

FIELD: shipbuilding. SUBSTANCE: vessel has hull with double sides and quarterdeck, fore multi-tier superstructure, cargo hold whose width exceeds width of cargo hatch, set of boards for it, aft engine room with side arrangement of exhaust gas trunks, hatch closure, aft ramp and cargo-handling device in form of gantry crane. Plating of hatch closure covers is flush with quarterdeck and is connected to it forming common deck; boards are loose fitted in vertical position in cargo hold near transverse bulkheads. Aft board is connected to aft bulkhead by means of detachable articulation joint and is provided with continuous plating on either side; flanges (similar to those fitted at the ramp) are provided over edges along longer side; flanges are directed to aft transverse bulkhead of cargo hold. Mounted on double sides on side of hold are vertical uprights made flush with longitudinal coaming of cargo hold and locking devices engageable with mating units of device located on boards. Locking devices are used for locking the boards both vertically and horizontally. EFFECT: enhanced reliability. 5 cl, 9 dwg
