FIELD: manufacture of knitted wear. SUBSTANCE: loops are knitted on needles of both needle beds, and operations of enclosure, running, pressing, application, connection, shedding and loop sinking are carried out, rows and wales are formed. The operations of application and shedding are accomplished without tensioning of old loops, and the latters are drawn off after a new loop is sunk with a shift of wale to wale in the direction of knitting. In a knitting machine with two sets of needle slots are made in the repelling comb of each needle bed against the comb slots, which accommodate repelling sinkers for extension to the shed of the needle beds. When opposite sets of needle are positioned in the shed of the sinker, they overlap each other. EFFECT: facilitated procedure. 6 cl, 13 dwg
