FIELD: textile industry, in particular, production of tubular knitted fabric used for gas and air cleaning. SUBSTANCE: flat or tubular warp knitted fabric has loop raws, each having at least two loops made from each thread of at least one warp and positioned in adjacent loop columns or in alternating columns. Method involves knitting fabric with loop rows having two loops made from each warp thread; providing independent operation of even and odd knitting needles for knitting of each loop row. Needle operating mode providing minimum length of loops and stable form of knitted fabric is cited in Specification. Circular fabric machine has long and short needles arranged in alteration and actuated by independent drives. EFFECT: increased efficiency, improved quality of knitted fabric providing fine air and gas cleaning. 5 cl, 14 dwg
