SUBSTANCE: in the process of alkylation, the quantity of hydrofluoric acid (HF) catalyst required for maintaining the desired relation between the quantity of hydrofluoric acid and the quantity of hydrocarbon in many reactors of alkylation is located in the lower part of the common settling basin. Perfection includes separation of the lower part of the common settling basin into many chambers for accommodation of the desired quantity of acid catalyst so that leakage occurring in the device which supplies the catalyst in one of many reactors leads to leakage of such quantity of the liquid acid which is contained in one of chambers and does not affect the level of liquid acid in the chamber with no leakage.
