FIELD: shipbuilding; design of sea drilling rigs and other equipment operating under ice conditions. SUBSTANCE: shell plating in sections subjected to action of ice in sea water is made of cold-resistant steel with clad layer made of stabilized erosion-resistant; stainless steel upper boundary of varying wetting zone and lower boundary of ice field are overlapped; anodes of cathodic protection are fitted on underwater portion of stabilizing columns below boundary of ice field in sea water at distance from joint of column dissimilar metals equal to 0.5-0.7 of radius of protective action of anode. EFFECT: enhanced erosion and corrosion resistance of shell plating under action of ice in sea water. 1 dwg
