FIELD: production of alumina from natural alkali aluminosilicates; producing sinter from alumina-containing charge. SUBSTANCE: method consists in continuous measurement of density of charge, temperature of material at sintering zone and at chain zone inlet, temperature of air at cooler outlet and temperature of flue gases at furnace outlet, rarefaction of flue gases, current of motor setting the furnace in rotation and hydraulic resistance of cooler in gas section and regular estimation of sinter quality (for example, by its porosity); rate of charge heating is maintained constant along length of furnace through action of fuel and dust flows and rarefaction of flue gases at furnace outlet. Preset magnitude of sinter temperature and rate of heating are corrected in proportion with magnitude of deviation of expectation of sinter quality from preset magnitude. Predictive model is regularly corrected depending on deviation of measured magnitude of sinter quality from its expectation. EFFECT: high quality of sinter accompanied by increase of extraction coefficient in processing sinter. 3 cl, 1 dwg
