FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention refers to finishing operations such as descaling, dressing and so on of metal strips. Process includes multiple elastoplastic deformation. To deformed section of strip there is applied alternating extending disturbing force in direction of longitudinal axis if strip which changes periodically with frequency V=(0.7-0.99)W, where W is frequency of inherent oscillations of strip. Weight may be attached to deformed section of strip before application of force. Deformed section of strip is given shape of loop and strip is continuously moved in process of machining to keep size of loop within specified limits. Deformed section if strip may be subjected to action of additional weight through lever which hinge and additional weight are arranged on opposite sides of point of loading of strip with capability of adjustment of position of additional weight along corresponding arm of lever. In agreement with first variant disturbing force is applied by action on at least one weight made from magnetic material with electromagnetic field. In compliance with second variant disturbing force is applied by rotation of additional mass relative to axis passing through gravity center of one of weights. EFFECT: increased quality of strip and enhanced productivity of machining. 6 cl, 9 dwg
