FIELD: materials handling; mechanization of unloading of large-size carbon-graphite electrodes after vibration moulding and placing electrodes in cooling bowl. SUBSTANCE: gripping device is hinge-mounted on arm turned by hydraulic drive. Tipper-manipulator is turned by hydraulic drive. Gripping device has two pairs of crossmembers made for synchronous movement of each pair along guide rods under action of independent hydraulic drives. Mounted on each crossmember coaxially with journals of mould and cooling bowl are hydraulic locks made in form of coordinating forks secured on crossmembers and straddling the journals, and pins arranged coaxially with journal sockets and operated by hydraulic drive.
