FIELD: electrical engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention is meant for glow-discharge lamps with enhanced service life and time uniformity of emission field. Light emitter is fabricated in the form of hollow cylinder filled with gas. Excitation of atoms of light-emitting gas is carried out by ring flux of electrons travelling axially and reciprocally which are set in motion by electromagnetic field of excited long being under mode of free oscillations. Electrons are formed in advance in the form of bulk charge. For creation of stationary emission some parts of emitter are selected with afterglow. Grid controlling ring flux of electrons is provided to control efficiency and spectral composition of emission. EFFECT: increased operational efficiency and reliability. 4 cl, 2 dwg
