FIELD: geology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to geological-reochemical determination of metallogenic specialization of crests of weathering while searching for mineral deposits hidden under them. Method is based on experimentally established dependence between value of indicating factors for clay type of crust of weathering (Br x Mi x Cc)/(Li x Be x Ta x Th), for latherite crust of weathering (V x Zi x Be)/(Cu x Zn x Pb) and for type of rock of substrate. After determination of type of crust of weathering and calculation of indicating factors type of rock of substrate and metallogenic specialization of crust of weathering are determined by results of lithochemical sampling.
