FIELD: sporting, life-saving, fire-fighting equipment; can be used for movement with the aid of rope. SUBSTANCE: the device has a housing with a slot for passing through the rope loop, a pair of stops and flanges for frictional engagement with it, and holes for arrangement of the snap hook and catching of the rope loop by it; the housing includes a plate and a strip parallel to it; the stops are placed between the plate and strip, the holes for the snap hook are made in the plate, one of the stops is made with a concave wedge-shaped working surface. The device may be additionally furnished with a pair of stops linked by a strip and secured on the housing plate in alignment with the stops of the first pair for operation with a twinned rope. The device strips may have flanged for rope wrapping. The device may be provided with an additional stop for the rope, secured on the housing plate and furnished with a movable clip with a hole whose axis is aligned with the axis of the hole for the snap hook. One of the stops of each pair may be made in the form of an axle with a roller freely placed on it. The stop with a wedge-shaped surface may have an axle carrying a double-rm lever with guide wraps for ropes on one arm and cams on the other for rope retardation.
