FIELD: fire-fighting. SUBSTANCE: method for suppression on fire in closed air space inhabited with mammals includes supply to the closed air space inhabited with mammals of trifluoromethane in the amount sufficient for production of heat capacity suppressing the burning of combustible material per mole of air oxygen in closed space. Introduced into given space is fresh oxygen in the amount, which together with air oxygen in the closed space, is enough for life support. Trifluoromethane is used in the amount sufficient for provision of concentration at the level of 80 vol.-% for the time required for fire extinguishing. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 6 cl, 2 tbl
