FIELD: mining industry. SUBSTANCE: invention caused to analyze ash content of coal and content of elements in ores directly on conveyer belts. Device has baseplate with ash content sensor incorporating radiation source and two detectors, two counters which information inputs are connected to detectors and which control inputs are linked to output of pulse generator and indication and registration unit. Device is suppliemented with programmable storage and permenent storage, averager, distance determining unit, extractor of two minimal values, buffer, unit determining tangent of mean angle, unit determining coordinates of projection of signals on graduation characteristics, unit determining two distances and unit determining ash content. Precision of analysis increases with due account of different scatterings of effective atomic number and density at different values of ash content.
