MUFFLER-SPARK QUENCHER Russian patent published in 1996 - IPC

FIELD: mechanical engineering; engines. SUBSTANCE: muffler-spart quencher has inlet branch pipe, housing with partitions - dividers, and outlet hole. Novelty in design of muffler-spark quencher is that housing is made in form of slot diffuser with length of slot at outlet greater than width, and partitions-dividers are arranged across slot. Ratio of slot width to its length in cross section is within 0.001 and 0.5. Housing has cavities at both sides forming dividing channels arranged in fan-like manner in direction of outlet hole. Outlet slot in cross section is made either broken or zig-zag. Partitions-dividers are of wedge-type, stremlined and are radially arranged. Muffler-spart quencher has plates each being made in form of circle sector forming outlet slot of hosuing. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of noise suppression and spark quenching. 8 cl, 6 dwg
