FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: carriage is set in guides mounted on the machine tool bad. The carriage is coupled with the major load through a flexible link. The weight of the load is equal to the resistance to free movement of the carriage provided with a blank to be machined. An additional load bears on the major load. The weight of the additional load is sufficient to guarantee carriage movement. The additional load can move with respect to the major load along its axis. The diameter of the additional load is greater than the diameter of the major weight. The adjustable stop is rigidly secured to the bad. The stop is made up as a hollow cylinder and underlies the additional load. The major load is freely mounted inside the stop. The stop arrests movement of the additional load. The carriage is pressed to the rod of the air-operated cylinder by the major and additional loads. When the rod moves to the left, the loads move down. After clamping a blank the additional load lays on the stop. The additional load stops to affect the carriage. The major load move inside the stop thus removing resistance to carriage movement.
