FIELD: oil and gas production. SUBSTANCE: alkali and alkali-earth metal-based component as a reagent for neutralizing boreholes, drilling muds, washing liquids, plugging mixtures, etc. is prepared by heating waste from distillation step of the anhydrous sodium carbonate production at the temperature 70- 80 C for 1.5-3.0 h until pH 6.5-7.0 is achieved followed by thermal processing in spray drier at 480-650 C attaining residual humidity 1.5-2.0%. Waste utilized in the process has following make-up (in wt %): 7.00-8.50 calcium chloride, 0.05-0.10 calcium sulfate, 0.05- 0.10 calcium hydroxide, 0.15-0.17 ammonium hydroxide, 4.50-6.00 sodium chloride, and water the rest. EFFECT: reduced cost of reagent. 1 tbl
