METHOD OF PREPARING COLLAGEN-CONTAINING RAW FOR GELATIN PRODUCING Russian patent published in 1996 - IPC

FIELD: chemical technology, gelatin production. SUBSTANCE: method involves washing raw, alkaline-salt treatment with sodium sulfate and sodium hydroxide that is carried out simultaneously with depilation at value "Ж.К" = 0.5-1.5. Depilating agent is hydrogen peroxide taken at amount 6-8% of raw mass. Sodium sulfate is added at amount 10-15% of raw mass and sodium hydroxide is added for two stages: initially at amount 2-3% of raw mass and after 4-6 hr treatment - the remained 2-3% of raw mass. Total process duration - 20-24 hr followed by repeated washing and neutralization. Method is used in glue-gelatin industry. EFFECT: improved method of gelatin production.
