DRIVE OF WASHING MACHINE Russian patent published in 1996 - IPC

FIELD: semiautomatic washing machines of drum type. SUBSTANCE: platform carrying electric motor, support, drive unit and plastic vat is attached with the aid of vibrosuspension to frame of washing machine. Perforated drum is put on hollow shaft inside vat. Balancing ring is mounted in upper part of drum. Activator with shaft passing inside hollow shaft is placed on bottom. Spring-loaded disc of coupling and sleeve are mounted on hollow shaft between drive unit and support for axial movement. Rocker embracing hollow shaft interconnects two diametrically positioned rods of vibrosuspensions. Disc of coupling interacts with its holes under action of pull of gravity of vat filled with water under mode "washing" with protrusions of disc of brake anchored on support ensuring braking of perforated drum. When water is drained from vat, that is with transfer of machine into mode "squeezing" pull of gravity decreases considerably and disc of coupling interacts with its holes through protrusions with pulley of step-down reduction gear ensuring switching of hollow shaft and drum put on it over to high squeezing speed. Pickup with hermetically sealed reed relay with spring-loaded flag anchored on brake disc provides for electric interlocking preventing start of electric motor under mode "squeezing" of washing machine prepared for operation under mode "washing".
