FIELD: underground mining. SUBSTANCE: boreholes are drilled in enclosing rock and ore body. Electrodes are placed in the boreholes. Cathode is placed in ore body, and anode is placed in enclosing rock at a distance from ore body. Electrodes are connected to electric circuit. Electrolyte is supplied to the ore as leaching solution. Oxidizing agent is supplied together with the solution. Electrochemical oxidation occurs as a result. Potential difference arises at the electrodes. Electrical current is taken off from the electrodes. Electrical effect on leaching process arises and electric current is generated.
