FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: bearing comprises outer, inner and intermediate races between which radial rolling bodies are interposed. The bearing is provided with the even number of intermediate races, odd number of radial rolling bodies, and two rows of thrust rolling bodies for each tier of radial rolling bodies. One of the intermediate races is H-shaped in cross-section. Ways are provided for the radial rolling bodies. The end faces are provided with two concentric ways for thrust rolling bodies. The outer and inner races are ether [ - shaped in cross-section or monolithic with radial ways on the end faces. The chute of the races is provided with radial and thrust ways. H-shaped and [ - shaped races are composed of two symmetrically mirror races of [ - shaped and L-shaped cross-sections interconnected via fastening members to form H-shaped race and [ - shaped race. The splitting line is located at the edge of the radial ways between which there is no collars when the rolling bodies are set in some rows. The method of assembling a multi-tier bearing comprises setting rolling bodies between the races, placing the first halves of H- shaped and [ - shaped races on a plane, setting the thrust rolling bodies of the first row of all tiers on the halves, setting the monolithic rings preliminary provided with radial rolling bodies on them, setting the thrust rolling bodies of the second row of all tiers on the monolithic races, and setting the second halves of the H-shaped and [ - shaped races on them, the halves being connected with the first halves by way of fastening members.
