FIELD: electroslag surfacing of cylindrical articles using nonconsuming electrode and granulated filler material. SUBSTANCE: surfacing is carried out by fixed electrode in space limited by crystallizer which is set into motion together with article rotating around its axis. Heating is done by nonconsuming electrode. Width of electrode in radial direction of surface to be coated is set equal to le= Dc/2-2b where Dc - crystallizer inner diameter; в= 12-20 mm - distance from side surface of electrode to crystallizer and to axis of article. Width of delivery of granulated filler material in radial direction of surface to be coated is set equal to c = Dc/2-α where α= 15-25 mm - distance between feed zone and crystallizer.
