FIELD: restoration of worn end surfaces, manufacture of large size machine parts and tools by surfacing.
SUBSTANCE: electroslag surfacing is realized due to introducing in slag bath system including at least two hollow non-consumable electrodes. Each electrode has spherical cavity in working portion. Electrodes are arranged along circle whose diameter is equal to half- diameter of article at predetermined spacing between their centers. Electrodes are introduced by preset depth into slag bath at beginning its rotation and they are subjected to reciprocation motion with frequency f = 30 - 33 1/min and predetermined amplitude. Surfacing material is fed through cavity of each electrode. High-quality melting and shaping of metal on surface of large-size parts is realized due to creation of tore-like rotary high-temperature slag flow which provides uniform separation of heat power in slag bath.
EFFECT: enhanced quality of restored and new parts.
