FIELD: mining industry; applicable in mining seams hazardous relative to their gas-dynamic phenomena with stable and hard-to-cave rocks of roof. SUBSTANCE: method for mining of steeply dipping stressed gas-dynamic active seams includes driving of main development working, development of extraction field with mining of sublevers by pillar-and-board method with simultaneous shrinkage of broken coal in several stores. Sublevers within the level are mined from its upper level to the lower level in direction of the main winze. Broken coal is discharged into level haulage facilities, as breakage face advances, from the last store which is caved after emptying coal from it. The level is preliminarily divided into sublevels by driving from the main winze of seam subdrifts and optimal width of extracted strips in sublevels is determined. Coal is won in sublevels from the bottom upwards, by removing successively accumulated in store after its winning. At least, two stores are provided on each sublevel. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 7 cl, 4 dwg
