FIELD: mining industry. SUBSTANCE: method for mining of thick coal seams includes preparation of sublevels by driving subdrifts and subsidiary workings, working of mounting at the roof through the entire height of the level by sublevels, with laying in them of flexible roofing on the floor, winning of the residual thickness of coal by sublevels under flexible roofing. Mounting layer is worked through the whole length of extraction field by sections equalling the filling spacing. In so doing, after working the mounting layer through the entire height of the level, ventilation holes are drilled between subdrifts, and filling connections are installed in subdrifts. Then, self-cementing fill is supplied to worked-out district and after setting of fill, coal is extracted of the next district of sublevel. Ends of flexible roofing are freed from fill and connected with laid flexible roofing. Lower layer is extracted under the protection of flexible roofing. compound of self-cementing fill is selected with final strength not exceeding 0.3-0.5 MPa. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 2 cl, 7 dwg
