FIELD: electrical engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention is meant for usage in switches sensitive to high amplitude of restoring voltage installed at substations. High-voltage switch incorporates leads-in 1 and 2 between which arc-control breaks 3 and 4 are positioned in series. Part of them (3) is shunted by resistors 5 with abruptly nonlinear volt-ampere characteristic. Resistor 5 may be common for all shunted arc-control breaks 3. Capacitors to provide uniform distribution of voltage across arc-control breaks may be connected in parallel to all arc-control breaks. In this case capacitance of capacitors connected in parallel to arc-control breaks shunted by resistors 5 is less than capacitance of capacitors connected in parallel to arc control breaks 3 and 4 to which mentioned resistors are not connected. EFFECT: improved operational stability and reliability. 3 cl, 3 dwg
