FIELD: railway transport; power supply of electrified railways with single phase ac current. SUBSTANCE: first section of contact system connected to phase A of substation is connected through switch 2 to beginning of autotransformer winding and to contact resistor. End of autotransformer winding and contact resistor are connected through isolator to second section of contact system. Current sensor is placed on contact system carrier cable behind place of connection of phase A feeder of contact system in direction of isolating joint. Current sensor output is connected to input of switch closing unit and to first input of switch opening unit. Output of switch closing unit is connected to first input of switch control unit and simultaneously to second input of switch opening unit. Output of switch control unit is connected to switch operating mechanism providing connection and disconnection of autotransformer and contact resistor.
