FIELD: mining, coal breaking. SUBSTANCE: control of hydraulic drill tool position in pressure pipe string is based on measuring angular position of the first drill section by appropriate sensors, angular position of feed mechanism spindle and service water pressure in the section of drill standpipe connected to the spindle. Using measured data and presented mathematical functions angular misalignment Φli between the first and subsequent section of the drill standpipe and tool position coordinates are determined. Then the tool is oriented in by rotating drill standpipe clockwise through angle γrot, which is determined by value Φli taking into account transport delay of the signal generated by the sensor placed in the first section of the drill standpipe.
