FIELD: preparation of emulsions for various applications. SUBSTANCE: emulsion consists of at least one hydrophobic liquid phase and at least one hydrophilic liquid phase, one of them being disperse emulsion phase and having stable colloidal state with disperse phase particle size as high as 1000 nm, preferably being in the range 100 to 500 nm. According to invention, liquid phases in the form of mixture are repeatedly passed through a mixing chamber, symmetric in axial direction, wherein the mixture rotates round the axis, the whole stream displacing in axial direction, and wherein mixture stream pressure drops in the stream direction because of gradual increase in the mixture stream velocity until rotating mixture is axially released from the mixing chamber with minimum pressure close to that of mixture vapor but somewhat exceeding it. Mixing chamber comprises a hollow member with a number of tangentially directed inlet openings in the first portion of chamber connected with the second portion of chamber consisting of a cone-like section in stream direction and axial discharge system coaxial with mixing chamber, the first portion of chamber being shaped as a paraboloid of revolution, the second one as reversed hyperboloid of revolution, and outlet opening as cylindrical tube. Parabolic wall of the first chamber portion outlines a focal line getting on rotation axis. Inlet openings are located in the plane of wide cross-section of the first chamber portion that is connected to the second one at the plane of widest cross-section, and total area of the inlet opening cross-sections is equal to area of discharge tube cross-section. EFFECT: improved design. 7 cl, 8 dwg
