FIELD: electrolytic processes. SUBSTANCE: electrode unit has end monopolar electrodes, connected with current conductors, and bipolar electrodes disposed between monopolar ones. Electrodes are made in the form of cassette pressed in into a non- conducting material containing electrode and current-conducting parts. Upper and lower ends of electrodes bear shields made of non- conducting material. Ratio of bipolar and monopolar electrode height to interelectrode distance is ranged from 25 to 150.
