FIELD: thermal preparation of phosphate raw material for electrothermal processing into yellow phosphorus. SUBSTANCE: method includes preliminarily shaped sintering of finely divided phosphate mixture prior to hardening roasting. Shaped sintering is effected by continuously pressing-through the mixture to produce sintered product of constant diameter with its ratio to piece length of 1:(1-3). Sintering is carried out to produce sintered product with bulk density of 0.8-1.3 t/cu.m. Sintered product is sorted to obtain in furnace mixture of ore part of 70-80% of class of 10-70 mm and 20-30% of class less than 10 mm. Diameter of shaping hole in sintering of raw material is 10-35 mm which is maintained by regulation of additive content from 0.5 to 5% depending on mixture acidity modulus. EFFECT: higher yield of quality standard fraction of ready sintered product, reduced specific consumption of heat for thermal treatment of raw material in roasting furnaces, higher content of fines of fraction less than 10 mm in ore part of furnace mixture. 2 cl, 1 tbl
