FIELD: heat power engineering. SUBSTANCE: composition comprises paraffin and additive, latter being 2,6-di-tert-butyl-4-methylphenol in amount 0.3-0.5 wt. %. Claimed composition offers number of advantages over conventional ones, namely: its specific melting enthalpy is by 45-50 J/g higher; oxidation processes in paraffin slowed down under effect of active metals, thereby making possible to use various metals and alloys as container for heat accumulator; improved heat exchange during operation of heat accumulating mixture, since no formation of thin film of oxidation products on container surface takes place with great number of operating cycles (prolonged use). EFFECT: enlarged functional capabilities.
