FIELD: descending well study. SUBSTANCE: device has chamber provided seam tester installed on the pipes, packer unit, unit to generate pressure pulses in formation fluid, sensitive member to detect formation fluid pressure transient, pumping out unit, unit to measure at least one physical parameter. The packer unit may have a pair of springy members spaced apart to be over and below the inlet hole of pressure generation unit used to isolate outer surface of the tester. Springy members are hollow and have a rig for inflating and releasing springy members. The device may have a rig for adjusting fluid flow velocity between the seam and tester. The device may have up to three pipelines of flow-through lines placed along the tester. The device may have precession pressure gage and the unit to measure at least one physical parameter, as well as additional chambers for samples of formation fluid. The method is implemented through descending the device in the well to determine formation characteristics. EFFECT: high accuracy. 16 cl, 2 dwg
