FIELD: electric engineering. SUBSTANCE: device has two plates, which are separated by gas gap, two electrode systems with orthogonal terminals and dielectric barriers. One electrode system is shaped as combs or meanders. Some parts of them are located under corresponding dielectric barriers along x axis; some other parts are located along y axis in area of indicator cells on two opposite sides of latter; yet other parts are uncovered or partly covered by corresponding dielectric barriers. In addition second electrode system is coplanar to parts of first system electrodes which are located in area of indicator cell. EFFECT: increased brightness and uniformity of light, decreased cost of manufacturing, simplified design of indicators. 4 dwg
