FIELD: industrial organic synthesis. SUBSTANCE: method of producing isovaleric aldehyde applicable in pharmaceutic industry (for heart drugs) consists in hydroformylation of isobutylene with 1: 1 carbon monoxide/hydrogen gas under pressure 2-6 MPa at 90-120 C in presence of rhodium- containing catalytic systems. The latter are composed of vulcanized compositions of rhodium compounds, oligovinylorganosiloxanes, oligohydrideorganosiloxanes and low-molecular organosiloxane rubber at their ratio 1:(35-37):(9-70):(1.8-2), respectively. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of process.
