FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method of producing propane by hydroformylation of ethylene in diluted gas streams. Method consists in that gas mixture containing from 5 to 25 % by volume of ethylene, as well as carbon monoxide, hydrogen, carbon dioxide, methane, alkanes C2-C4alkenes, C3-C4 is fed to the hydroformylation reactor are reacted in toluene in the presence of rhodium-phosphine catalyst at temperature of 70–90 °C to completion of fast pressure drop in reactor, then, gases are collected in buffer tank and gases are supplied from buffer tank to compensate for pressure drop in reactor during hydroformylation of next portion of raw material.
EFFECT: disclosed method provides reduced consumption of ethylene-containing material and high output of the end product per unit of raw material used, low degree of formation of heavy by-products, as well as consumption of expensive catalysts and reagents and costs for carrying out the process.
