FIELD: metallurgy, production of mainly high-strength pig-irons with ball-shaped graphite using molten bath modification in particular. SUBSTANCE: pig-iron is treated in ladle with mixture based on grainy ferrosilicon, that has 5 - 8 mass % of granulated magnesium, and is placed in pocket in ladle bottom and uniformly covered by coating layer, that is base on grainy ferrosilicon mixture with 1 - 2 mass % of granulated magnesium. EFFECT: improved quality of high-strength pig-iron with ball-shaped graphite.
