FIELD: ferrous metallurgy, particular, devising of cast iron composition applicable for working layers of two-layer flour-grinding rolls. SUBSTANCE: cast iron for working layer of flour-grinding rolls contains, mas.%: carbon, 3.40-3.70; silicon, 0.10-0.50; manganese, 0.80-1.20; nickel, 0.30-0.50; phosphorus, 0.40- 0.70; aluminum, 0.1-0.10; chromium, 0.20-0.40; titanium, 0.20-0.40; sulfur, 0.005-0.05; iron, the balance. EFFECT: higher wear resistance, stable microstructure and capability of working layer material of flour-grinding rolls to maintain their relief of rough surface and its reconditioning under the action of grains and grain products. 2 tbl
