SUBSTANCE: cast iron for rolls comprises, wt%: carbon 2.70-3.80; silicon 0.30-0.90; manganese 0.30-0.90; nickel 1.20-2.50; chromium 0.50-1.30; rare-earth metals 0.05-0.10; sulfur 0.05-0.15; vanadium 0.01-0.10; titanium 0.005-0.02; copper 0.08-0.50; iron the balance. Content of vanadium and titanium is within the range 0.015-0.10%. Cast iron has increased resistance to micro cracking and chipping of working surface limed layer.
