FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engine. SUBSTANCE: muffler has cylindrical housing 1 with end face walls 2 and 3, coaxial, partially perforated pipe 5 to let exhaust gases in and out, cross partitions 6 and 7 installed, accordingly, in pipe 5 and in clearance between pipe 5 and housing 1. Partition 7 has perforated holes 8 with bends 9 in direction of gas flow. Bends 9 are made in form of solids of revolution cut off in diametral plane perpendicular to plane of partition 7 and arranged equidistantly from housing 1 and pipe 5. Planes of cuts 10 are oriented in one direction at similar angle relative to radius of partition 7. Projection of center of plane of cut 10 is located on this radius.
