FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: fuel-air mixture for internal combustion engine is prepared by preliminary evaporation of liquid fuel in air flow, evacuation of heavy non-evaporated drops of fuel from fuel gas and subsequent mixing of dried gas with additional air flow. Evaporator has laminated structure hygroscopic member impregnated with fuel. Air passing between layers of member gets saturated with fuel vapors. Trap for non-evaporated drops of fuel is cyclone type inertia device. Dried gas - air mixture is made in form of gang of diffusers with controlled passage area. EFFECT: enlarged operating capabilities, reduced consumption of fuel. 8 cl, 1 dwg
