METHOD FOR DETERMINING ROCK MASSIF MECHANICAL STABILITY Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: construction technology. SUBSTANCE: method includes seismic detectors lay out on rock massif under examining to record periodically seismic oscillations by not less than one three-component seismoreceiver and not less then two single-component seismoreceivers. For measuring data processing seismic recording sections are selected to have more convenient recordings from criterion of randomness point of view characterized by background microoscillation presence, pulse wave type oscillating patterns and existence of pulse wave type oscillating trains sections used for time dependance diagrams of amplitude-frequency characteristics drawing. Seismic energy of pulse wave type oscillating patterns, seismic exiting block dimensions, resulting rock stress discharge value and coordinates of excitation focal point are determined in addition. For parameters mentioned above time diagrams are plot to determine terminal decision function magnitude as sum of all determined parameters variety with weight coefficients calculated as reversed dispersion value for every parameter. Rock massif mechanical stability is bound by terminal decision function mean value calculated for definite periods equal to one year and one month but it not exceeds value of its variation dispersion during one year.
