FIELD: ferrous metallurgy, namely iron melting in foundry for stabilizing process of iron melting in gas cupola with idle refractory charge, especially at long-period continuous melting run. SUBSTANCE: gas cupola includes output nozzles of burners whose total area consists 0.03-0.15 of cross section area of cupola shaft at changing air temperature for burning gas from 20 C up to 500 C. Burner tunnel has hydraulic diameter equal to 1.15-1.45 of hydraulic diameter of output nozzle of burner. Ratio of summed area of openings of output nozzles of burners to cross section area of shaft changes in dependence upon temperature of air burning gas in limits given in description of invention. Burner tunnels are made of copper or its alloys and provided with water cooling system. EFFECT: improved design. 8 cl, 3 dwg
