FIELD: air purification. SUBSTANCE: invention concerns cleaning air outbursts from solvent vapors and dye dust using a liquid as separating agent and may be employed in mechanical engineering. Method includes preliminarily scrubbing outbursts with water containing additive coagulating and flocculating dye suspension followed by scrubbing with washing water containing 6-7 mg/l of water-soluble cation-type polyelectrolyte, which absorbs and accumulates only organic solvents from vapor-air stream, and finally blowing waste water with air or inert gas. The latter procedure increases polyelectrolyte concentration in waste water to 10-50 mg/l. Then condensation of vapors of volatile solvents with weak and moderate hydrogen bonds is performed, whereas solvents with strong hydrogen bonds (forming with water azeotropic and mutually dissolving mixtures) are directed to membrane treatment with subsequently taking them off as commercial produce. Cleaned water with residual concentration of polyelectrolyte is recycled to preliminary gas scrubbing. As effective coagulating and flocculating additive, one may also use water-soluble cation-type polyelectrolyte based on polydimethyldiallylammonium chloride in amount 10-1000 mg/l. Installation for implementing the method includes hydrofilter with settling tub for preliminary gas scrubbing, the same for the second scrubbing step, aerator, condenser, and membrane apparatus.
