FIELD: optical instrumentation engineering. SUBSTANCE: proposed method can be used for technological and certification quality inspections of photographic lenses. Essence of invention consists in sequential measurement of contrast of image of line optical mires created by tested lens 3 from central and field collimators 1,2. Measurement results are displayed on digital indicator. With the use of central collimator parallel bundle of rays from first optical mire is projected on to entrance pupil of tested lens and image of test-object corresponding to center of field of vision of lens 3 is formed in rear focal plane of lens, image is scaled by means of microlens, optical image is converted into electric signal with the aid of charge-coupled device-camera 7, image contrast is calculated as relation of power of variable component of videosignal to constant component. By movement of charge-coupled device-camera 7 along vertical line search is conducted of plane for best position by maximum value of measured contrast. Quality of lens 3 in center of field of vision is evaluated by maximally achieved contrast of image. Same operations are performed to determine quality of lens by edge of field of vision of lens 3. This enables operator to conduct evaluation of quality of centering of optical components of lens in real time of perception of measurement information and to control adjustment process if necessary.
