FIELD: mechanical engineering; timber tractors. SUBSTANCE: steering gear has gearbox with differential, final drives 1 and steering and braking system. Final drives 1 have plates 2 of which levers 4 with hydraulic cylinders 3 and brake bands 5 are hinge mounted and springs 9 operating the brakes. One end of output shaft 7 of final drives 1 has driving sprocket 8, and other end has pulley 6. Plates 2 are rigidly coupled by links 10 with cross beams 11 of tractor frame.
