FIELD: textile industry. SUBSTANCE: preparation for finishing textile materials from viscose fibers or their combination with other fibers contains mixture of 20.5-59.1 wt % of 4,5-dihydroxyimidazolidinone-2 having general formula 1 where R is CH₃,CH₂OH,CH₂OCH₃,CH₂OCH₃,CH₂O(CH₂CH₂O)₂H and R′ is OH, OCH₃,O(CH₂CH₂CHO)₂H, 7.0-14.0 wt % of hexamethyl ether of hexamethylolmelamine, 0.9-15 wt % of diethylene glycol, and water (the balance). Preparation renders fabrics (both from viscose fibers and their mix with polyester fibers) less contractible and less creaseable with sufficiently soft touch and negligible content of residual formaldehyde on treated fabric.
