FIELD: gas pipe line transport. SUBSTANCE: gas fed from main is expanded in turboexpander obtaining mechanical energy and cooled gas to be used in heat exchanger; for more effective recovery of energy, use is made of several turboexpanders mounted in series. Cooled gas may be fed to condensate receivers. Gas may be heated before feeding it to turboexpander. Device for realization of this method contains several turboexpanders mounted in way of flow of gas. Outlet of turboexpander may by brought in communication either with heat exchanger or with inlet of next turboexpander through system of turboexpanders fitted with shut-off members. Condensate receivers for collecting heavy fractions may be mounted at turboexpander outlets. Besides that, device may be provided with preheater, pressure-reducing valve unit and metering device mounted before low-pressure gas consumer. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency. 3 cl, 5 dwg
