FIELD: energy and cold production from natural gas. SUBSTANCE: high-pressure gas is supplied to user through several series-connected turboexpanders and gas- expansion work is used for producing electric energy and for cooling in refrigerating chambers. To this end, gas flow is delivered, depending on gas temperature difference at outlet of turboexpander 12, either to heat exchanger (12) wherein it is heated due to cooling surrounding medium or to next turboexpander. For implementing this method, there has been developed power- producing-and-cooling plant which has heat exchanger installed downstream of each turboexpander along gas flow which is provided with shut-off member in inlet piping 17; inlet and outlet pipings 17 and 19, respectively, are connected through other shut-off members for gas flow supply bypassing heat exchanger or turboexpander. Power- producing-and-cooling plant incorporates turboexpander (power drive with bladed machine) whose rotor 31 is mounted on shaft 32 coupled with user shaft and provided with gasodynamic sealing system. Power drive is provided, in addition to gas supply nozzle 33 with gas- flow metering device 34, also with additional gas-jet feeder in the form of nozzles 42 with valve-type gas distributor 43 and logic unit 44. EFFECT: improved design. 18 cl, 5 dwg
