TRAP FOR CATCHING ANIMALS Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: animal traps. SUBSTANCE: trap has base in the form of U-shape post 1 with supports 10 which are triangular in shape. Attached to side straightline sections of post and movable on ring-type loops 9 are two V-shape springs with safeguards 3 and two jamming members 4, 5 which function as striking parts acting on animals in vertical plane downwards. Watching mechanism has lever 6 pivotally connected with upper part of post and provided with two shackles-eye lugs 12 for attachment of watching member and limiting movement of springs only to vertical direction. Watching member 7 is made in the form of bow with two loop-like protrusions 13 for movable connection with shackles of watching member lever and for holding upper jamming member in alert position. Locking element 8 is pivotally joined with lower jamming member-threshold 5 and is provided with protrusion 14 for locking watching member and pushing it out from lower jamming member-threshold at moment of operation. Locking element of watching member ensures high sensitivity in operation and allows for adjustment of depth of animal penetration into trap opening by changing height and angle of locking element relative to post plane.
